DrKumo, Evidence-Based Connected Health Technology, partners with Alternative Healthcare LA to provide RPM for physiological, mental and behavioral health.
BUENA PARK, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, August 17, 2021
DrKumo and the Alternative Healthcare LA (Behavioral Health Director) Robert L. Jamison, with over 7,500 healthcare providers, partners within their network, have announced a joint partnership to provide a holistic and integrative Evidence-Based Connected Health Technology of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and combine with the critical elements of assessment and management of mental and behavioral health to provide the most urgent needs for those living with chronic illnesses. As the pandemic relentlessly persists, the two institutions will collaborate to solve the ongoing health problems, especially focusing on the underserved populations such as the Indigenous communities, Female Native American veterans, their families, and the minority communities by integrating a holistic and integrative approach to service patients, using the Connected Health Technology of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) to provide quantifiable metrics in servicing patients with behavioral health, chronic illnesses, and acute conditions such as COVID-19 positive to enable providers and clinicians to understand patients’ vital signs in real-time to be able to remotely intervene and to adjust treatments and therapies optimally for their patients.
The 2021 State of Mental Health in America report states that mental health in the US continues to deteriorate, that many states are unprepared to deal with the crisis, and that the government is called out to act immediately. In the said report, 19% of adult Americans experienced mental illness from 2017 to 2018. There was an increase of 1.5 million people based on last year’s data set. Moreover, the percentage of adults in the U.S. who are experiencing severe thoughts of suicide increased to 0.15% from 2016-2017 to 2017-2018 or an additional of 460,000 people from last year’s data set. In addition, Native Americans and other indigenous groups have worse access to care and face poorer health than the above-mentioned statistics. Native communities live in crowded situations, making social distancing impossible. Due to high rates of poverty and chronic disease, access to hospitals is also limited, and is further amplified by COVID-19, resulting in understaffed clinics.
“Mental illness chooses no age, gender or race. Even in states with the highest availability of resources, many of their residents were left untreated, especially the matriarchal societies and minorities. Remote Patient Monitoring is the best technology solution in treating and understanding more patients with mental illness wherever they are in the world,” said Dr. Jamison. “Our robust partnership with DrKumo—the only RPM company which is dedicated to both physical and mental health of people from all walks of life—leverages care delivery models as we integrate Connected Health Technology and Behavioral Health Management.”
“This new care approach of combining integrative holistic Evidence-Based Connected Health Technology of Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and the critical elements of assessment and management of mental and behavioral health will create a huge impact on communities to be well-informed about health and wellness, and well-engaged in optimizing their lives,” said Dr. Monica Larson, Psy.D, Alternative Healthcare LA Clinical Psychologist “Integrative medicine will address the full range of physical, emotional, social, mental and spiritual factors that influence a person’s health, while holistic medicine will allow patients to embrace alternative and culturally-adapted practices.
This combination promotes healthy and culturally rich connected communities that have strong access to quality care and empowered by advanced technology.”DrKumo and Alternative Behavioral Health stand united to eliminate digital divide, increase awareness and bridge healthcare gaps by reaching out to more patients and provide continuous support using our easy-to-use RPM Technology, integrative and holistic medicine, and effective Behavioral Health Assessment tool and practices.
Benefits of DrKumo Next-Gen RPM for patients:
1.Improved physiological, mental and behavioral health management owing to real-time live data streaming, and timely medical intervention
2.Reduced emergencies, hospitalizations and readmissions; reduced risk of cross-infection
3.More control over personal health through secure mobile-enabled application and easy-to-use medical devices
4.Fewer physical visits to the practitioner’s office; lower patient travel costs
5.Better support and awareness of disease 6.Better quality care, better mental and physical state, and optimized live
In order for treatment to be successful, patients have to participate and be engaged. By encouraging regular data collection or input, remote patient monitoring solutions increase patient involvement and keep them engaged in their programs. The traditional alternative of forcing them to make appointments for offices visits results in many missed appointments and lack of interest. In addition, the increased use of mobile devices and applications makes telehealth and RPM devices and applications more acceptable to a growing number of patients who are already comfortable with the technology.
Social isolation, job losses, limited transportation options, and personal losses have meant a surge in mental health issues. Those already in precarious living or employment situations have been especially affected. Alternative Healthcare can help with Behavioral Health, depression screening, and evaluation of Social Determinants of Health. According to a March 2020 study in Population Health Management, SDOH screening workflows were successful “when designed to fit existing clinic processes, often achieved by starting with selected target populations or small pilot teams
Just as behavioral and mental health are linked together, your physical wellbeing is also codependent on how you take care of yourself mentally. With neuropsychiatric disorders as the most common cause for disabilities, the CDC and NIMH (National Institute of Mental Health) reports that 18.7% of Americans lose their lives to premature mortality in addition to suicide remaining the tenth leading cause of death in the United States (4). These statistics prove that if you don’t practice healthy habits and participate in constructive behaviors, your mental health will indeed suffer. In order to fulfill a balanced, happy lifestyle you should focus not only on eating healthy and exercising daily but also pursuing positivity as well as engaging in activities that help manage, monitor and improve your sanity.
20% of Americans Behavioral health conditions are extremely common, affecting nearly one in five Americans. Improve your patients' mental health outcomes, streamline operations and maximize revenue. Tap into the DrKumo and Alternative Healthcare LA Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) Services for recurring revenue streams and achieve your clinical goals profitably.
Patients who are in the midst of a crisis situation or addiction relapse are able to more easily seek emergency consultations with mental health professionals, reducing risks associated with their conditions and reducing readmission rates in hospitals.
Telehealth and remote patient monitoring can help ensure more mental health patients receive the care they require, which also helping address a shortage in mental health professionals. The data collected through RPM systems can help doctors better understand behavioral and emotional triggers, allowing them to deliver more effective care. But, the keys to providing better care lies in making services available and ensuring patients seek help when necessary.
Telehealth alternatives make ongoing care and follow-ups more convenient and easier to schedule, even if initial consultations take place in-office. Patients are able to more easily schedule recurring appointments and doctors are able to see more patients in-office as needed. RPM solutions make regular data collection/entry easier, whether facilitated by automated devices or manual entry into apps by patients.
Entrepreneurs line up Demand for complex IV procedures prompt business venture:

Four nurses and a physician's assistant identified a business opportunity and are betting $750,000 of their personal fortunes to make it a reality. All five have experience in surgery and critical care and recognized the need for people who can place and service PICC lines. So they've launched a school that will train medical professionals in this and other complex procedures; the tuition will help generate start-up revenue for two mobile PICC clinics. PICC stands for peripherally inserted central catheters. Unlike an IV line in the arm, a PICC is threaded deep into the body with the terminal end near the heart. It's used for long-term chemotherapy, antibiotics and to provide total nutrition for the incapacitated. Placing the line can take an hour in a sterile field, but must be done by someone certified by the Infusion Nurses Society.
The company is still in start-up mode and begins its first class Feb. 24, with tuition of $650 per student for the 40-hour course. Next week the owners go before the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency to seek a Certificate of Need to start a home health agency. Physician's assistant Robert Jamison, president of Intravenous Nurses, Inc., believes his strategy in recruiting home health nurses and aides is simple: He'll offer training in advanced procedures, which reimburse at a higher rate. And he'll offer a more generous split of the hourly rate than his competitors. Nurses want a professional environment, he says, but they also want money. "There's a dire need for what we do, and we don't get the compensation we deserve," he says. The five principals raised the start-up capital themselves, leveraging pension plans, credit cards and letters of credit. While Jamison manages the school and home health business, nurse and Memphis Fire Department paramedic Mark Hamlet will be in charge of the mobile clinics. He's negotiating with Four Winds International, a custom truck builder in Elkhardt, Ind.
"There are thousands of people in the Memphis area that need a PICC line; even in the hospital it can take three days," he says. "In the rural areas surrounding Memphis there are no PICC services at all." The mobile units would be like a mobile MRI, parking at a nursing home or hospital as patients are brought inside for the procedure. Since all the principals have years of experience in critical care, they're turning first to the physicians they know to build a referral network. The company already has four recruiters lining up a home health staff. A pay raise and advanced training are part of the recruiting pitch. All training will be from an experienced and certified nurse, rather than an instructor. The peer-to-peer aspect is also part of the pitch. "We all work in health care and we know how nurses feel shortchanged," Hamlet says. "We've all been there, and we don't want to put others there." Jamison is determined to be successful, and says it's worth the personal, calculated risk he and his friends have taken. "If you're going to go out on a line, you should do it for yourself."

Klymaxx Original Member Cheryl Cooley started guitar lessons at the age of 11. She went onto learning music composition, orchestration & arranging at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, then onto earning a degree in commercial music at Los Angeles City College.
After graduating college, Cheryl was playing in various local bands. When she was rehearsing at a studio in Hollywood, she was approached by some girls that said they had been getting together with an all-female band called KLYMAXX (AFB) and wanted her to come and start rehearsing with them.
Eventually Dick Griffey, president of Solar Records went to see the band rehearse and signed them immediately to a contract that would spawn 5 albums. Cheryl wrote the music to the demo song that got KLYMAXX the record deal and was the first single called, Never Underestimate the Power of a Woman.
